My father's older brother was a meatcutter at Safeway for forty years. When the opportunity came for him to become meat manager, his wife gratefully accepted on his behalf. She wanted to be married to management, not labor. The first thing my uncle was told by corporate was that he needed a larger stock of filet mignon and other expensive cuts. After twenty five years at that store, my uncle knew his customers. They were a working class, cold cuts and beer kind of crowd. When my uncle told corporate that, they said, "You'll sell 'em if you got 'em." When the expensive cuts didn't sell, as my uncle predicted, corporate came back and docked his pay. He went back to meatcutting, and his wife left him.
After my period of "relaxation," I followed up with various therapists. I got tired of constantly repeating everything about my history and finally asked, "Can't you just read the file?" No, because the file doesn't contain details. Details might harm the patient, should the patient read his file and become upset by the details therein. My most frequent complaint at that time was that my file had been confused with someone else's, which is why nothing my therapists said ever seemed aligned with my actual experiences. I never imagined the file they were confusing with my file....was my own file.
When Cracked was a print magazine, they ran a gag that went something like: a driver sees a sign warning of "Danger Ahead." Driver so busy looking for danger he crashes into the sign.
There was a song titled "Signs" way back when the world was new. I had to look it up to see who sang it. It was by the Five Man Electrical Band. Now I have to go back in time to see if they had any other hits that I have mis-attributed to someone else.
I always read the signs first
I read the signs first, *then* go back and read the comic.

Yeah, that’s always my issue: read the signs first, or the comic?

That tip about pressing Control and the plus (+) symbol is Golden!
When I first started reading your comics I didn’t notice the signs. When I realized they were just as good as the comics, I went back to read them.
