10yrs is the longest I've managed to stay in one place.... In my entire life... We moved a lot growing up, and now my brother is the only one of us kids who has stayed in the same place for long- he's been in his house now for over 25 yrs... Lucky him ☺️
I am so very happy that I am old and feeble(ish) enough to pay other people (generally young strapping types) to move things for me. Now I just need to figure out how to avoid the packing part...

I hate moving so much that I lived for 30 years in an apartment I hated in a crappy part of town, rather than move.
When I did move I took my clothes, some essential things, and paid the landlord to trash everything else, i.e. 90% of the contents of the apartment.

We moved every year until I was 8, which I think is the origin of my dislike for moving.
That would definitely do it. I only moved once as a kid, but I still hate it.
Next time I move, it's going to be in a pine box.
I like the idea of leaving one place and going to another. This whole "take your stuff with you" business is the part that's a drag.
