S&D still sell books? Whenever I pass by the store, all I see are cheap gifts and trinkets. When I need a hardcopy book, I use Bookstore.org, where you can designate a local bookstore to receive a cut of your money (in my case, Sir Lonebucks Comic store).
I know the poll is closed but we have a local brick and mortar bookstore here in New London, NH, and there's another in Warner, NH a much larger store in Concord, and another in Hanover, so those are my go-to book places. There's also a real record shop in Concord. I live in a paradise (apart from the black fly)!
I worked a Christmas at a Sheds & Dignified and despite my stellar performance, attendance and work ethic, I was let go for poor job performance. They could have just said the season was over and they didn't need extra people. But no.
Thank God I had my medical degree to fall back on. I, too, would never be a manager. That dream crumbled in the light of the New Year.
I love books, but I have to sort through the older ones with a mask on if I don’t want a crippling headache. Crippling headaches cut down on my reading time.
For space opera junk reads that are tossable qualty? I get them for very cheap or free from sites like Bookbub and a few others. Obviously, most of these are Loss Leaders from self-published ebook writers. I have accepted hundreds of them for my ebook reader. I have finished maybe 2 of them. I start a few and after several pages, I realize I won't go on. I hope you have already or will find abundance in sci-fi fun reedz on bookbub. I have found promotional-type deals for some excellent books that were Not self-published. They were usually ?1.99, what I paid for paperbacks in the 70s or 80s. Often, I'll see one that will signal to me: likely an NPR-review Best Books of the Year lister.

That’s a great site. S&D does still sell books. Not the one you’re looking for, of course, but they can order that for you.
I really love your comic strips and look forward to them…
I can often relate too 😁🤔😂
I buy my books at an independently owned bookstore, where I know the booksellers by name and they know me. It’s always a wonderful experience!

Nice!
Love this whole piece. Excellent!
I’m faced with not using Amazon but also not supporting my MAGA-owned small local bookstore. Alibris and Powells for me.
Maybe purchase the most liberal books you can find to make them gnash their teeth.

While that’s absolutely terrible, I couldn’t be more delighted that the name Sheds & Dignified seems to be catching on.
This was a great one 👍I feel guilty for not paying you now.
No guilt allowed here. I’m happy you are reading and appreciate that more than you know.
Your work is a bright, nugget of light in the darkness of world events streaming through my page ❤️
