I quit my last job in 1978, after 3 months, to become self-employed. Giving them the usual 2 week notice, I came in late and made up for it by leaving early. A few months after I left they shut down the entire department and fired everyone. The product I'd been hired to work on never got built. Another bullet dodged!

That "no ID" guy reminded me:

1. Your inconvenience is not more important than my job.

2. If you want me to do you a favor, being hostile is not as effective as being nice. (Or as a child's t-shirt I once saw said, "Being good gets you stuff.")

During college, I wanted a summer job that would let me afford to stay in my college town, so I took a telemarketing job selling subscriptions to the local newspaper. Realized at the end of the first day on the job that I was now in a role that I, as a consumer, would hang up on. I quit the next morning. Never even bothered picking up any pay I might have earned that day. The shortest job in my entire career!

That’s a common job to ditch quickly. Their turnover rate has to be unusually high, assuming the job exists anymore.

Been in customer service for way too long. I'm still working on the Trapped issue.
